Content Specialist
for GOG.com
JobOverview:
GOG.com is
looking for a creative and talented person with a superb command of English who
can work well as part of a team to produce marketing and editorial content for
us. This person will also help us research gaming news, line up interviews with
new and established developers, and actively participate in our online
community.
A good
candidate is creative, hard-working, has a good sense of humor, and has the
following qualifications:
Job Requirements:
Professional
- Superb command of written and spoken English. The
primary language that GOG.com uses to communcate
with external audiences--publishers and gamers--is English, and
you’ll need to be able to speak and write fluently.
- Organized. Our content specialist will have a broad
responsibility to create a lot of editorial and marketing content in
English, and managing all of the deadlines and tasks that are a part of
this job is very important.
Personal
- Love of PC gaming in general, and ideally a love of the
old classic games from the 90’s and early 00’s.
- Comfortable in an informal work environment. We love
our jobs at GOG and we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do
work hard, and we expect you to as well.
- Be willing to learn. We always strive to be the best at
GOG, and we hope you will, too.
These aren’t requirements, but it would be awesome if
you:
- Demonstrate outside the box thinking for drawing
attention to your brand
- Had a background in journalism or in technical writing
(preferably in English)
- Had experience in a customer-facing job dealing with a
wide variety of public people
- Knew how to juggle chainsaws (you never know when that
could come in handy)
Key
duties/responsibilities of Content Specialist:
- Copywriting. One of your two main areas of responsibility will be to
write copy for GOG.com; you will create content for the website, for
newsletters, and you will be part of a team that participates in developing
ideas and creating content for a regular video show.
- Copy Editing: Your other major area of responsibility
will be to make sure that all of our external English communications are
professionally written. Whether it’s game pages, advertisements, or
news posts to the GOG.com forums, you will help us create a professional
appearance to our public.
- Press Relations: You will assist our Marketing Manager
in finding press and helping to maintain a relationship with the press to
encourage them to write about GOG.com
- SEO: As part of your duties, you will generate search
engine optimized content for GOG.com; if you don’t have experience
in this, you will be given training first.
- Assist in community management of online forums.
